The cabinet on stand is a form perhaps best associated with the works of James Krenov. Decorative and functional, pieces in his style often display subtle lines and highlight the natural beauty of the material.
My interpretation of the form isn’t directly inspired by any specific piece of Krenov’s, but I tried to work within the general proportions of his examples, and remain true to the techniques and materials typical of his work.
The piece is primarily comprised of hickory, with walnut drawer fronts.
This piece was formerly display at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA as part of their 2020 Biennial Members Exhibition. It is now for sale through Long Walk Woodworking at a price of $5,200. Please reach out via the contact page.
